Dr. Jenny Jackson
Born in Naperville, Illinois, Jenny Jackson moved to Texas with her family in 1982 and grew up locally in Bedford where she attended L. D. Bell High School. Always having an interest in animals, she told her parents she wanted to be a zookeeper. This later led her to Florida where she studied marine science and biology at the University of Miami. Dr. Jackson obtained her Bachelor of Science in 1996 and then decided to come back to Texas to pursue Veterinary Medicine. She graduated from Texas A&M with her DVM in 2001.
Dr. Jackson has practiced veterinary medicine in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area since graduation. She initially worked in small animal hospitals in Plano and Carrollton before practicing emergency medicine in Dallas for 7 years. She was proud to become part of the Prestonwood Pet Clinic family in May of 2014. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, toxicities and soft tissue surgery.
Dr. Jackson currently resides in Coppell with her husband of 11 years and their two children. They also share their home with her original two children: a 16-year-old calico cat named Rio that she adopted while at Texas A&M, and a 13-year-old pointer mix named Sky. In her downtime, she likes to stay active and has always been a sports fan, having grown up playing soccer, softball, and volleyball. She also enjoys reading and spending time with her family and friends.
A strong part of Dr. Jackson’s practice philosophy is that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits all approach to veterinary medicine. She will strive to create tailored treatment plans to meet each pet’s unique needs here at Prestonwood.
